I usually love Ross, but drove 10 min out of my way here at 8pm. Got here at 8:07 and paper on door said closing at 8pm even though Google says 10. Couldn’t make an exception for a quick purchase. That’s ridiculous.

This store has fraudulent and arrogant employees and they did not buy the defective product. And this may be the procedure, but acting like they are firing the man and looking down on people is very wrong. They will return this product like a lamb, I do not collect money from garbage.

This ross store is always messy and you cannot find the right sizes where they should be and the staff are rude. But my main complaint is for the manager and one cashier. I bought my stuff with cash and the cashier gave my change back which when I counted to make sure it was right, I realised she gave less than what she had to. When I told the manager she went and brought the difference and with an ugly grin and humiliating way she said: you collect coins? Which I just told her yes and it’s none of her business. I mean of course I don’t care about the coins. But it’s not up to them to decide. And how many people have not counted their money and the cashiers stole from them?
All the Ross locations i have visited there has been a long long line at the cashier to the point it discourages a lots of people from buying anything. It is time for improvement and incorporate tecnology.

They treat customers like criminals as they walk in the door. I needed to use the restroom and they wanted me to put my water bottle outside to watch it. A water bottle! Like what could I have stolen in that, considering it was full of water at that! Omg. Surprised they didn’t ask me to leave my purse too.
I was going to shop after my bathroom break but instead I just left because of that. Ridiculous!

Ross Dress for Less
Address: 570 Gulfgate Center Mall, Houston, TX 77087, United States
There are a lot of cute and affordable things, but there’s no dignity shopping here when the shoes are security tied together so close you can’t try them on, there are no locks in the dressing rooms, and there are two armed guards in bulletproof vests checking every item on your receipt on your way out. The checkout line takes ages, as well.

Top Tips for Shopping at Ross Dress for Less in Houston, TX
Best Times to Shop: Shop early mornings (8-9 AM) to avoid Houston’s heat and crowds. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are prime days for fresh inventory, while weekend mornings are surprisingly manageable. Skip late afternoons when post-work shoppers flood popular locations like Westheimer and Memorial City!
Finding Hidden Deals: Red-tagged clearance sections are goldmines – typically found at the back of each department. The designer section near the entrance often has amazing high-end finds. Houston stores, especially in The Galleria area and Sugar Land, frequently receive premium merchandise. Don’t overlook the home department’s bottom shelves – they often hide the best deals!
Store Strategy: Each Houston location stocks different items – try Memorial and River Oaks area stores for upscale finds. During summer, early shopping means better-organized racks and blessed air conditioning. Hit the shoe section first before it gets chaotic. Bring your own shopping bag for easier browsing!
Sales and Markdowns: Though Ross doesn’t do traditional sales, they mark down items throughout the week. Watch for extra colored stickers on price tags for deeper discounts. Holiday weekends bring new inventory but expect larger crowds. Making friends with staff can help you learn about restocking schedules!
Shopping Smart: Use indoor stores as refuge from Houston humidity, but come early for best selection. Check end-of-season items for major markdowns – winter items get heavily discounted in our warm climate. Fitting rooms get packed during lunch hours and after 4 PM, so plan accordingly!
Local Pro Tips: Houston stores stock plenty of year-round summer wear due to our climate. The Galleria area and Sugar Land locations typically carry more designer items. Since Ross doesn’t offer online shopping or an app, in-store visits are your only option – make them count with strategic timing and location choice!
